Download TikTok videos on Windows and Mac

You can save a public TikTok video from your computer browser. TikSavo prepares the MP4 and keeps the result on the same page while you download.

1. Copy the link to the video

Open the individual post on TikTok. Copy its address or use Share and Copy link. A normal video address contains the creator name and /video/ followed by a number. A link to a creator profile does not identify a specific video.

2. Prepare and preview the file

Open TikSavo, paste the copied link and select Get video. Wait for the result card, which shows the video, creator and duration. Play a short preview to make sure you have the right post. Availability and quality depend on the original source.

3. Select Download MP4

The button retrieves the file on the same page and hands it to your browser to save. Keep the tab open while it is preparing. If your browser asks where to save the file, choose a folder and confirm. TikSavo does not require an extra advertising download button.

Find the file on Windows

Open your browser's Downloads list to locate the completed file or use its option to show the file in a folder. The default is commonly the Downloads folder, but your browser may use a different location you selected. Look for a name beginning with tiksavo and ending in .mp4.

Find the file on Mac

Open Finder and select Downloads, or open the browser's Downloads list. If you selected a custom save location, check that folder. The file stays on your Mac even after the temporary preview expires.

If the download fails

Check that the original TikTok post still opens and that your device has free storage. A temporary file can expire, so prepare the original video link again rather than reusing an old media address. The current test service accepts videos up to 10 minutes and 100 MB; wait before retrying if another video is being prepared.

Before sharing the MP4

Only download content you own or have permission to save. Keep the original link for attribution. Permission to download does not automatically include permission to repost the footage or its music.
